It's all good because the only cold that's here right now is mine

Over the weekend, the virus I've been "entertaining" finally kicked in. Honestly, it's really nothing more than a cold and it's not some foreign disease but rather something more common contracted from a sixteen-month-old child.

Aside from a slightly heavier-than-normal head and aforementioned child screaming into my ear just for fun, the weekend has been the September ideal you might always dream about. The house is clean, the laundry is finished, football has been watched, the dog was walked and pizza was eaten.

And the point of all this? Well, I think I am accepting that Fall is here. We will not utter the words "Summer is over" because that is entirely unnecessary. Rather, we will just say we like football and changing leaves and the Indian Summer-ish days that are upon us.

Mostly, I am loving it. Even when I'm seeing things through a cold-medicine haze, when you consider that the team won, there's word that my sister's husband is coming home from Iraq by Christmas, and there are beautiful things all around, it's not hazy at all. In fact, it's actually quite clear how good everything seems to be.

I guess all in all fall is upon us and it is somewhat crisp and refreshing if it wasn't for the cold. Not just the cold causing your nose to drip. But also the cold that won't allow me to wear flip flops and sandals anymore. Why can't we have the leaves, the pumpkins and all that and still be comfortably warm?

I'm not ready to concede the end of summer days yet...or accept fall. I'm with you on liking football though...unfortunately my team lost...:( Sigh....Yay on your sister's husband maybe coming home by Christmas. That's fantastic news. I'll be happy the day I hear my cousin will be coming home. But he just got there, so that will be a while...

I love Fall and actually I'm quite glad the stickiness of Summer is passing. I hope you feel better, I know how much it sucks to get those "gifts" from the loved little ones. Drink lots of fluids and don't let it get to your chest! (that's what my mother always says).

You know sometimes weekends like that are actually a good thing. In fact I kind of want a weekend (or weekday, who am I kidding) to just be sick.

Good news about your brother-in-law!

Isn't it nice to be in a good place?

I fell in love with fall this weekend, too! I've been meaning to blog about it but, you know, I'm a lazy lazy blogger lately!

Well said lady, I like your outlook on fall. I know I'm late commenting, but I do hope that you are feeling better now. And I love the photo. Red leaves are my favourite!
