Everyone likes a good fair

A few weeks ago I took my friends' kids to the county fair.
They were moving that day and as hard as it is to keep track of toddlers amongst ferris wheels and cows, it is infinitely better than carrying boxes.

I consider wearing them out an accomplishment.
Well, that and no one got their shirt eaten by a goat.

Ah, the county fair...spent many hours there as a kid, and even more as an adult. Our sons showed dogs in 4H - which led to four 12 hour days at the county fair. Right now, the famous Puyallup Fair (our state fair) is going on. It overwhelms our small town, but adds a lot of excitement for about three weeks!

Is that an Emu?

It's not an ostrich, right? Don't ostriches have really long necks?

Just doing the "My god - is that a native Australian animal at an US farm show?!" thing.

It's a knee-jerk reaction, the fauna watching. Must be something in the water over here.

Goats only eat shirts out of love, respect, and undeniable hunger.

State or County fair?

Does this mean you got your camera back?

Enquiring minds and such.

BackofPack- I find it so sad that our state fair is seeing such a drop in attendance each year. I think we'd lose something without it.

SB- Yes, an Emu it is. The more I think about it, the more I don't like the caged animal idea of the fair.

JACC- County Fair. The state fair is much more posh- ha.
No camera yet... though they tell me it's coming.

Josh- Thanks. It's not hard to make kids and goats look cute. :-)

Oh how I remember the days when little ones used to fall asleep like that . . . how fun to take someone else's kids to a fair.
