In the Interest of Safety

Mom: Hi, hun. What are you doing?

Me: Going to the post office.

Mom: Oh, good. Kill two birds with one stone while you're there, okay?

Me: What? Do you need stamps or something?

Mom: No, I just mean look at the photos of the criminals on the wall and make sure you haven't given any of them your phone number lately.

Me: Thanks, Mom.

Mom: What? I'm just saying, you never know. You can't be too careful.

Me: Right. Okay.

Only because she cares.

Listen.
I am the mother of a 20 year old and I can TOTALLY hear myself saying that.

I fear for the day I have to think about that - we were afraid to let our little kids memorize their home number for fear they'd give it to the wrong person. What does your mom think of your random thoughts out on the internet? hahaha I haven't told mine yet.

So we're dying to know, did you take a mental inventory and do the comparison?

You know she's going to test you.

Sizzle- I keep telling myself that.

Blackbird- Well, at least I know it's a mom thing and not just a my mom thing.
Does Pwaite go by something else?

Ginger- She knows nothing yet. I don't know what I'll do when/if that day comes.

Josh- Yes, learn from the best.

Coolcat- I looked but maybe not close enough because I didn't even see the photos. Do they hide them now?

GG- I tried. She programmed me long ago to not be able to resist her direction. Evil, I tell you.

Your mom is fabulous! I know it probably feels less than that on your end, but that right there is deee-lightful!

Neil- No, just at the city jail. I like my men to be local. Ha.

Bre- Okay, if you say so. :)

We don't have pictures of criminals in our post offices. It's all very clean and un-criminal at the PO. How boring.

In fact - I don't really know where you can go and look at 'criminals currently of interest'. This is insane! This is Australia! European settlement started with a penal colony!

I think there's some deep issues of National Subconciousness that need to be sorted out here...
