Because I'm asking nicely
Alright, so I told you it was coming. I told you I would whine and beg as if I, JustRun blogger, were the only person on Earth. I also told you I'd demand things and expect each and every one of you to comply. However, I am going to ask nicely and that makes up for everything else.
Please, blogger buddies, share music with me. I want some good music, that may or may not be new (or new to me but maybe I've just forgotten all about it), that you love. (And yes, you, I know where I can go every Friday for some tunes but that doesn't mean they're "favorites" or highly recommended. This way, I know it's the best of the best.)
Maybe it's your favorite song/artist/band/album.
Maybe it's the newest, greatest thing in your city.
Maybe it's your all-time, top ten favorite songs, ever.
Maybe it's the CD you can't stop playing in your car.
Maybe it's the music you've been running with lately.
Maybe it's music from your high school prom.
Maybe it's something you love because of a recent concert you attended.
Whatever it is, share it with me. Please and pretty please.
Thank you and forever and ever am I in your musical debt!

I am truly, madly, deeply in love with Ray Lamontagne. He lives on repeat in my car and at my desk. The boyfriend hates it.
Two local MN bands that I LOVE (you can check sound clips and find their sites on the right margin of my blog) are Epic Hero and GB Leighton. GB I know does some travel, Epic Hero just has a great sound...both end up on my MP3 for runs quite often. Do you want me to e-mail you a few samples? Just checking ahead because as I'm sure you know, they can be quite large!!
Sounded like you might not be so fond of bluegrass based upon the banjo comment on your post: http://justrungirl.blogspot.com/2006/12/diversity.html
But I am way into bluegrass so here is my pick: Old Crow Medicine Show. Probably the best album would be the self-titled OCMS. Here is a link to their website:

eb- Thank you! It's on the list!
Danielle- I will check them out. If I can't find any samples, I'd welcome the emails. Thanks!
Adam- No way! I love banjo! In that post I was just embracing the diversity of my running friends! Thanks for the link, I will check it out!
can you give me a hint as to what usually plays in your car/ipod/stereo? that'll help me point you in new directions. i have a ton of suggestions!!
I listen to music so rarely that I have nothing to offer. Unless... you'd like a clip of me singing preschool songs...never mind, that could be ugly. Real ugly.
This picture IS rock and roll:

(Don't worry, it's not rude, it just rocks.)
I'll go genre since my tastes are kinda all over the place.
Alternative: Rachael Yamagata
R & B: Robin Thicke (Alan Thicke's son! Seriously! He's good.)
Jazz: Norah Jones
Religious: David Crowder Band
Rock: Counting Crows
World: Buena Vista Social Club
(Oh, by the way, you've been tagged on my blog *grins*)
music . . i could go all over the place with that one. sometimes it's the lyrics, sometimes it's the instruments and what they do for your soul. My latest purchases, favorite groups, favorite songs to run to, or affect my moods:
Five Way Friday - 'Boston'
Ari Hest - 'Fascinate You', 'Holding On', 'They're On To Me',
Matt Nathanson - Beneath These Fireworks CD
Lonestar - 'Mountains'
Mint Royale - 'Show Me'
Five for Fighting - (anything)
Peter Gabriel - Solsbury Hill
Fall Out Boy - 'Sugar We're Goin' Down'
Soul Asylum - (anything)
Tom Petty - (anything)
I'm a sucker for some good Billy Joel, and thought I'd heard it all until I swiped my mother's "My Lives" and imported it into iTunes - it's fun because it has unreleased songs, concert versions, and demos... it's a whole new Billy for me!
To prove that I'm really not a middle aged woman in disguise, I also quite enjoy Flogging Molly and the Dropkick Murphys - which are punk-rocky bands that do Irish music. I'd start with Flogging Molly as they have some stuff that's less angry punk, and slowly move into Dropkick. "What's Left of the Flag," "Factory Girls," and "Drink and Fight" are some of my favorite FM songs if you're looking for recs.
Also, Sizzle got me hooked on Tristan Prettyman and now I'm a girl obsessed!

the album Tchokola by Jean-Luc-Ponty
The Girl from Ipanema
My favorite would have to be good old Led Zepplin. I also have a thing for Evanescence, Hinder, Sister Hazel. For a little love & soul, I always enjoy Tyrese, Keith Sweat, and Kenny Lattimore. For some instrumental (saxophone), I choose Dave Koz.
That's all I got for you right now! :)
Ok, but you asked for it. I'll send you an email and you can post whatever you like best.
All top notch and if you have a genre or style category just let me know prior.
I downloaded 4 gigs to my ipod tonight. It was exhausting.
